Okay, so I kinda of gave up on the two books that I was reading before because I’m particular (read: picky or close-minded) about what I read these days.
Three words: Young Adult, Dystopian
I actually tried to read two normal, adult books that I felt I would really like, but it was so funny because in the book BEST FRIENDS FOREVER by Jennifer Weiner (who I’ve read everything by and absolutely love) I began to lose interest when the characters grew up. The whole part of them being children was amazing and is etched into my brain folds. But now, I can’t seem to get through the mystery part.
Not her fault as a writer at all (‘cuz she’s awesome), I just have to feed the reader in me. Currently that reader seems to be about sixteen. And all about being trapped in a different kind of world.
So I trekked over to amazon.com and typed in HUNGER GAMES:

All these books I failed to put on my best of the best reading list. But I’m adding them now. They are truly my reason for reading. Plus, I read the authors blogs: here and here and they are just so nice and smart and they actually comment you back! Double awesome!
When you type in a book at amazon, you get a section of what is called, “Customers who bought ____ also bought ___.” This is where I get most of my amazing-can’t-live-without-reading books. So after typing in these books, this was the one that came up as suggested reading:

I’m already a quarter the way through it and it’s just…beautiful. I don’t want to say anything more about it, because if you’re anything like me (Gaw, let’s hope not), you like to be surprised about what the book is about right from the first page. So, if you like any of the books above, RUN not walk to your bookstore or library and pick up a copy of this one.
Gorgeous.
